About WP-CR-Connect

THE TECHNOLOGY BEHIND THE DEMO

A connected district. A distinctive website.

WP-CR-Connect brings ClubRunner content into WordPress.

Build a distinctive club or district website while keeping connected stories, events, meeting information, leadership, and business-directory content together. WP-CR-Connect lets WordPress handle your design and editorial pages while ClubRunner remains the source for information your clubs already maintain.

Instead of recreating a district’s operational information in a second system, place connected modules where visitors need them: a club finder beside your membership invitation, upcoming events on the homepage, leadership contacts near member resources, and business listings in a dedicated directory.

A district website powered by connected content

Rotary District 50406 is a fictional demonstration of WP-CR-Connect and WordPress. It shows how a district can welcome visitors, support clubs, promote service, and present current information in one cohesive website.

Explore the site as a prospective member, club officer, community partner, or district volunteer. The same connected information can appear on several pages without asking an editor to copy it manually. This is not an official Rotary district or a Rotary International endorsement of the plugin.

News and stories

View the connected stories demo or browse the district newsroom. Display published ClubRunner stories directly with [wpcr-stories], so news can sit alongside your other district content.

Story Sync can also create WordPress posts from connected stories. Those posts can have their own article pages and participate in WordPress search, RSS, and post listings. Local articles are written in the standard WordPress block editor; their surrounding newsroom page remains editable in Kubio.

Events and subscriptions

Explore the events calendar or view the event list. The month calendar helps visitors see what is coming up, while a shorter list works well on a homepage or program page. Event details and registration links use the information supplied by ClubRunner.

Use [wpcr-events-calendar] for the calendar and [wpcr-events] for event lists. Add [wpcr-events-subscribe] so visitors can follow the district calendar in Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, or another app that accepts an iCalendar feed.

Clubs and maps

Find clubs in the directory and on the map. Help a visitor compare clubs and find meeting information before arranging a first visit. A map gives people a geographic starting point, while the directory presents the available meeting details.

The meeting directory uses [wpcr-wcm], and the geographic view uses [wpcr-wcm-map]. Both use the configured ClubRunner account rather than a separately maintained list.

Leadership

Meet the district leadership team or view club officers. Clear leadership pages help members find the right person and understand the roles that support their clubs.

The district team uses [wpcr-d-leaders]. The plugin also supports optional profile and contact mappings. Available contact information depends on what ClubRunner supplies and permits to be displayed; the website does not assume access to a private member directory.

Businesses

Explore the business directory and map. Give vocational connections a useful place on the district website. Visitors can browse by company or name, open available profiles, and use the contact or website links supplied with each listing.

Business cards use [wpcr-d-business-directory], and the map uses [wpcr-d-business-directory-map]. Listings come from the ClubRunner demo account and do not imply a district endorsement.

Designed for district editors

Every published page on this demonstration site has a Kubio-editable layout. Editors can revise page copy, images, headings, buttons, and section spacing while keeping connected content inside the plugin’s shortcode modules.

Posts use the standard WordPress block editor. This gives a district a familiar article-writing workflow alongside a flexible page builder. WordPress hosts the website; ClubRunner supplies the supported connected information.

Understand the sample content

Editorial demonstration stories and program descriptions are clearly identified as fictional. They illustrate useful district content without presenting invented projects, results, deadlines, or bookings as real. Connected listings are supplied by the configured ClubRunner demo account.

The plugin works within the information and endpoints available through the ClubRunner API. If a feature needs information the API does not supply, this demo does not fabricate an API response. New integration features can be considered as ClubRunner makes the necessary data available.
